Brand asset libraries

BrandIn is an application add-in for PowerPoint, running on Windows and macOS desktop versions of Microsoft 365. It provides a suite of functionality that helps users create on-brand presentations. This includes access to a library of pre-designed slides, photography, icons and graphics as well as a brand checker and a slide migration tool called Smart Paste.

Once installed, it adds a new tab to the ribbon as in this example:

The tab is highly configurable in terms of which features are activated, their text labels and what graphical assets are displayed within the library. Configuration is usually performed prior to deployment in cooperation with the brand advocate, typically an employee in the marketing team.

The following sections explain how each of the features work at a high level and further details on configuration and setup are provided later in the corresponding configuration sections.

Brand asset libraries

The brand assets library feature makes use of the brand assets that you decide to deploy to users of the solution. These can include one or more of the following asset types:

Model Slides* – one or more slides in one or more presentations in one or more category folders.

Brand Pictures – one of more raster pictures in one of more category folders.

Brand Graphics – one of more vector illustrations in one of more PowerPoint slides in one or more PowerPoint files in one or more category folders.

Brand Icons – one of more raster or vector icons in one of more category folders

*A model slide is defined as a slide built on one of the layouts in one of the masters within the deployed template and which contains either partially or fully completed content:

The brand assets library is maintained on your chose network/cloud storage solution and is then synchronised to create a local mirror copy of the library stored on each user's computer. Typically, the Brand Manager maintains the master brand assets library, uses BrandIn to Publish the library to the shared network/cloud storage solution and the sync solution maintains the local copy for use while the computer is both online and offline:
